Periods with Pink Parcel | Gifted AD

Updated: Sep 27, 2019

I'm sat here writing this as I nurse my monthly cramps with my trusty hot water bottle, knowing full well that nothing will actually beat this pain and bloating. Regular cups of tea are on the go and the biscuits and snacks are at the ready for when the cravings start to kick in. My body is weak and my skin is screaming at me, which really is the icing on top of the cake.

Oh, the beauty of periods.

Earlier this month I was kindly #gifted a period box by Pink Parcel, the UK's No.1 period subscription box. What a perfect pick-me-up for the most draining time of month! From less that £11 per month, you can get your box delivered to your door, packed with a monthly supply of femcare products and extra surprises. All we need to do is choose our delivery date, sit back, relax and indulge!

The parcel itself contains 3 boxes with your period necessities, all from the UK's top brands including Always, Tampax, Bodyform and Lil-lets. Subscribers also have the choice to choose from their preferred brand, which is a cool little personalised feature. To help tackle those crazy hormones, there is a 'For You' box of goodies, which includes everything from beauty, haircare and skincare, to chocolate and herbal tea. The extras are tailored to making us feel a bit better and less yuck during our period and it's safe to say I've been well looked after this month...

My favourite product from the selection has to be the Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask. Dr. Botanicals is a brand i've wanted to try for soooo long, so I was actually really excited to receive this product! I also love pomegranates, which I didn't know, are high in antioxidants which help to nourish the skin.

As normal as ever, my skin can sometimes go real crazy during my period, so this product was the perfect hydrating overnight treatment for my thirsty, stressed skin.

Something that I really enjoyed about my parcel was the 'For Now' cotton period bag. The little red pouch with pink hearts is the perfect addition for your handbag when it's time to venture out. Not that carrying tampons and pads around is anything to be ashamed of, but now you have a cute little place to keep everything together.

But Pink Parcel is not just a subscription box, they are so much more than that. In everything they do, the brand aims to break down the taboos and stigma's surrounding periods. I know, it's 2019 and we're still having to normalise conversations about the biology of our bodies. Pink Parcel have sponsored and created charity initiatives such as the 'I'm On' campaign, as well as their award winning education programme for young people, to teach them about periods in a real and honest way. Every month, women are still having to challenge the misconceptions and stigmas that surround periods.

Pink Parcel are also a website dedicated to help, love and support during your period. The Pink Blog posts provide information and conversations to help people feel more confident and knowledgable about periods, menopause and everything in-between. It's definitely somewhere to keep in mind if you ever need any information, tips or recommendations for anything period.

We can normalise conversations surrounding periods and make things a little easier for everyone. It's not that hard, it's biology. Period.
